Where were you on the morning of September 11, 2001. This is how the evening started, in thought. The presentation of the flag was by the Marines this night, and the National Anthem was performed by our own Westlake choir. They did a great job.
Not long after the beginning of the festivities, the boys came out onto the field. They were ready to play. It is such a sight to see them all walking out of the locker room united.
The stands were filled to capacity again this week. We had such a variety of people there. Students dressed in togas, faces painted, and even whole bodies painted light blue and dark blue. The fans are so great to come out and support the boys.
Kick off, the game was so very close between the two teams. By half time the score was 7 Provo 3 Westlake. The second half of the game there were more touchdowns for both teams. It was a very intense game to watch. I think the best part was the last 8 seconds of the game. I really thought the boys were going to pull it out. In the end we lost 23-28.
Next weeks game is against Mountain View. The game starts at 7:00 p.m., it is a home game. Hope to see everyone there!
My son's team, the fifth grade team, came to this game! It was such an inspiring game! The last 8 seconds were the most amazing, we thought we were going to get that ball into the end zone! Thank you Thunder for the great motivation of our future Thunder team. Our boys went on to win their first game the next morning, 14 to 12 against a Lehi team. (The picture of the future players in the visitor section was us.I think that we were the loudest on that side of the field!) Thanks again!
