Westlake vs. Orem 2009
That brings me to Saturday morning. What a great opportunity for our boys to give back..... They were involved in the Buddy Walk for Down Syndrome. The boys had a really great morning. They interacted with the kids, played games with them and went on a 2 mile walk with them.
So many of the boys came home feeling really great about what they had the opportunity to do, and really had a great time. It was so wonderful to hear the boys talking about the kids they met, and the things that they did with them. All I kept hearing was how cute the kids were, and how much fun they had with them. We hope to see many more events that the boys are participating in as a team. How great to see the boys working together as a team off the field as much as on.

Westlake vs. Mountain View
Another Friday night under the lights! As always the boys started out of the locker room, pumped and ready to go. We all really missed "Thunderstruck" being played as they came on to the field. We were all really excited to see how this game would be played.
The whole first half of the game was hard fought. The boys worked really hard to get those first 14 points on the board. It really was fun to watch.
The boys played their hearts out and ended up winning the game 28-26. A little close for comfort, but they did it!!
Looking forward to playing Orem on their field, Friday September 25 at 7:00 p.m.. Hope to see everyone there!!!

Westlake vs. Provo September 11, 2009 Homecoming
Where were you on the morning of September 11, 2001. This is how the evening started, in thought. The presentation of the flag was by the Marines this night, and the National Anthem was performed by our own Westlake choir. They did a great job.
Not long after the beginning of the festivities, the boys came out onto the field. They were ready to play. It is such a sight to see them all walking out of the locker room united.
The stands were filled to capacity again this week. We had such a variety of people there. Students dressed in togas, faces painted, and even whole bodies painted light blue and dark blue. The fans are so great to come out and support the boys.
Kick off, the game was so very close between the two teams. By half time the score was 7 Provo 3 Westlake. The second half of the game there were more touchdowns for both teams. It was a very intense game to watch. I think the best part was the last 8 seconds of the game. I really thought the boys were going to pull it out. In the end we lost 23-28.
Next weeks game is against Mountain View. The game starts at 7:00 p.m., it is a home game. Hope to see everyone there!

Westlake vs. Payson
Friday September 4, 2009: First home game for Westlake Thunder High School. What a turn out. The place was packed! Everyone was so excited for the high school game!! The marching band was ready to go, and they played really well! Some military men from Camp Williams presented the American flag at the game. The national anthem performance was AMAZING...all I can say is WOW!!!!
Then it started. The best song, and unofficial theme song of the Westlake; "Thunderstruck". The boys started out of the locker room and the crowd went wild! Everyone was on their feet, cheering for the boys. They looked so good in their light blue jerseys! The color made SUCH a statement!
It was a really great game, and most importantly, the boys played their hearts out. We had a few injuries, but hoping nothing too serious. It was a really close game the whole night, and pretty intense to watch, but in the end we lost the game 27-34.
What a sight to see with the whole community coming together and cheering on our youth! The boys are looking forward to next Friday night's Homecoming Game. Hope to see you all there!!!
On Thursday the Sophomore and J.V. boys played Payson, and both teams won their games. They were fun to watch!
Tuesday September 8, 2009 Homecoming kick off!!!!! Invitation to the students and community:
